Today's badge gets lost at small sizes
The current badge packs a turntable, a banner, the full name and eight confetti shapes into one image. As an Instagram avatar or a WhatsApp group icon, it turns into a smudge.
Every option
- Keeps LSSQ's colors and 80s feel
- Reads as one simple shape at 16px
- Pairs with the full name when there's room
Colors we keep
- Banner pink
#E2397A - Record yellow
#F2C230 - Outline cyan
#36E2E6 - Confetti lavender
#B79CF0 - Turntable black
#141818

Option A
Record Q
The record from today's badge becomes the Q in LSSQ, and the tonearm, needle and all, is its tail.
Why it could work
Closest to what people know, so it reads as a cleanup, not a rebrand.
Watch out
Yellow needs its dark outline to hold up on light backgrounds.

Option B
Quest Marker
The "!" that floats over a side quest in a video game: something worth doing over here.
Why it could work
Boldest and simplest of the four, and the easiest to spot in a feed.
Watch out
It drops the record, so music isn't in the mark.

Option C
Four Pillars
A compass star for a gathering that moves every month, with one point per pillar: music, play, wellness and connection.
Why it could work
Tells the whole LSSQ story, and the four colors can carry into the site.
Watch out
Four colors are hard to print in one ink, so it needs a one-color version.

Option D
Last Saturday Patch
A striped sunset over the mountains, ringed like a patch you'd sew on a jacket.
Why it could work
Feels the most outdoors and nomad. The small version is just the sunset.
Watch out
The full patch has small text, so it's for merch, not avatars.

Option E · New
Record Sunset
A's record sets like a sun behind the mountains, under the banner from today's badge.
Why it could work
Made for stickers and patches: thick outlines, a die-cut border, flat colors and big type.
Watch out
It's for merch, not avatars. Pair it with A for small sizes.

Option F · New
Stripe Letters
LSSQ written in one unbroken ribbon of three stripes, like a 70s racing stripe that never lifts off.
Why it could work
The most retro of the six. Each stripe writes the whole word in turn, it holds up in one ink, and the same stripes make borders and dividers.
Watch out
It's a wordmark, so it's too wide for avatars. Pair it with A there.
Pick one, or mix two
| Option | Best at | Watch out | Your call |
|---|---|---|---|
| Familiar, reads at 16px | Needs its outline on light | ||
| Boldest, easiest to spot | No music in the mark | ||
| Tells the whole story | Needs a one-color version | ||
| Great on merch | Text too small for avatars | ||
E, Record Sunset | Stickers and patches | Merch only, pair with A | |
| One ribbon, animates, makes decoration | Too wide for avatars |
Starting point: A for the mark, E for stickers. They share the record people know, and A still reads at 16px. F could join them as the wordmark, with its stripes as decoration.
